The Next to Godliness quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers players a blend of humor, stealth, and social choices that highlight Henry's relationship with Sir Hans Capon. Unlocked after completing the hunting excursion in The Prey, this side mission requires players to assist the young lord during a night at the Rattay bathhouse. Navigating its time-sensitive objectives efficiently allows players to earn reputation and avoid potential setbacks.
Starting the Quest and Joining Hans at the Baths
To begin the mission, visit Lord Capon as he recovers in the Rattay upper castle. He will invite Henry to meet him at the local bathhouse in the evening around 21:00. Make sure to arrive on time, as this quest functions on a strict overnight schedule until morning.
Once inside, interact with Hans and agree to participate in the evening's activities. You will play a game of dice with Zdena the bathmaid before joining Hans in the bath. Remember to store your regular armor and clothing in the trunk beforehand to keep the dialogue flowing naturally.
Retrieving the Sylvan Red Wine from the Cellar
As the bath continues, Hans will request a specific high-end vintage known as Sylvan Red from the town's cellar. You will need to obtain the keys from Hans's trunk in the bathhouse to unlock the cellars beneath the Rattay Armory. Stealing or borrowing these keys grants easy access without triggering aggressive guards.
While inside the wine cellar, a patrolling guard may confront Henry regarding his presence late at night. Players can use speech checks, bribes, or pass key checks to avoid getting thrown into jail and failing the assignment. Grab the pitcher, fill it directly from the designated barrel, and make your way back toward the bathhouse.
Gathering Flowers and Resolving the Brawl
Upon returning with the wine, Hans sends Henry on another errand to collect a bouquet of fresh flowers for Klara. You must gather a specific mix of wild flowers including poppies, dandelions, sage, and roses from the castle garden. Once collected, returning to the bathhouse triggers a confrontation with a jealous local named Archibald.
A brief fistfight ensues where Henry must defend himself and protect Sir Hans. The following morning, Henry wakes up near the bathhouse and meets with Hans to discuss how to handle Archibald. Players can choose whether to punish the attacker severely or advise Hans to show mercy, concluding the quest on a positive note.
